Special Announcement On COVID-19
Dear STOPit Community,
We are writing to provide an update on the actions you should take with your STOPit program and actions your STOPit Team is taking in light of the growth and concerns with COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
Given many schools and businesses are moving to modified or school/work from home schedules, we want you to be assured that the STOPit staff and our Certified Agents are in place to continue to support you and any incident submissions. Additionally, we have set up continuity and backup plans should any team member or facility be impacted by the virus to ensure there are no disruptions to your STOPit services.
In addition to our work, we request that you and your STOPit Administrators take the following actions to continue to provide and maintain the safety and well-being of your users:
1. DOWNLOAD the STOPit Admin App for Mobile Management of Incidents– If you have not done so already, please download the STOPit Admin App. This allows you to receive notifications and manage all incidents including Messenger directly from your Mobile Device.
Click Apple Download or Android Download to access the App.
2. Sign-Up (if you haven’t already) for STOPit’s Incident Monitoring Service (IMS) and guarantee all incidents will be monitored. Get the assurance that all incidents are being acted upon by enrolling in our IMS. In the case of an emergency, our Agents will follow defined protocols to alert and ensure that district and/or law enforcement personnel are acting against the reported incident. 3. Utilize the Broadcast Notification function in STOPit Admin– Through Broadcast, you can send mass updates to your students/employees that have the STOPit App on their devices.
4. Pause the STOPit Program by utilizing the Vacation Scheduler– If you would like to pause your STOPit program at any time – use the Vacation Scheduler. This will allow you to pause users from sending incident reports for a set period of time that you establish. Note that during this time, users will receive a notice that the program is being paused and to seek other means for getting assistance. Additionally, users can still open the app and access “Get Help Resources” such as national suicide hotlines, etc.
